brilliant, breathtaking and unbelievable as always, and i feel so fortunate to have read this......Iove how your characters are always in this dissociating state while simultaneously living in the past, and the way you transition between those two aspects; also the similes in this one was beyond great and etching, the imageries and writing style immerses me so much I forget I'm reading and not living through a screen, nothing ever feels too long or too short, but perfectly intentional and well crafted, I often have a lot to say about the way you write and present the world through your peices, specially the observations and their descriptions, they always leaves me bewildered in a really good way, but I fail to articulate, anyway this was great and quite surprisingly still felt short, always an experience reading your work, glad you wrote this.
thank you Sakshi. as always, im stoked by your appreciation and glad you took the time to write down your thoughts here, that was so much to process and very much reassuring. such words of affirmation is hard to come by, and i do reiterate that i am taking notes frm these feedbacks. thank you again.
I’m so sorry i put it off for so long — partly cause i was sorta intimidated by the length but this was so rewarding to read. it’s easily identifiable as literature — goddamn. someone said you remind them of ruskin bond (and all good for their opinion) but reading this remind me of kiran desai
the whole aspect of an inheritance being sorta the curse that anchors you and stops you dead in tracks is so well identified in inheritance of loss as well
i loved how the brother acted as this sorta superego to aspire to and i see your socials everywhere and i can identify the padma motivation — that dread of being held down, so fucking gnarly
man I can’t wait to read you book when you finish it and hopefully talk about you in documentary someday!!
thank you, and never apologise for not reading because mahnn, you're probably one of the only very few ppl who'd read this anyways xD. and i am grateful for u finding the time to read, and also speaking ur mind out here. appreciate it lots. i haven't read both Ruskin Bond and Kiran Desai (guilty), but i am very much aware of their work, and im intrigued to read them now. not sure this is it, but yh this is so far from being wht is intended to be. maybe im trying to carry more than im capable of. no clue, im lost.
dunno man, idk wht to do with all this tbh. but if i, somehow put it all together, ima send a copy to you someday, like a draft maybe. no promises for a book coming out so. and for now, im just glad there's like a bunch of ppl who read this here. again, thank you.
thank you. that is some compliment. i do think however im like nowhere near him, or any writer. but I thank you again. i write these since i have nothing going on in my life xD and its nice to know people take the time and effort to read through, appreciate it.
Didn't like it because didn't like it :( sentences too many and too many of them are so flat and not because I am a retarded reader!!!! >.< But BECAUSE it's mostly 'Padma do that, Padma did that' it reminded me of a child book because its readers usually cant follow the subject🧍♀️ you should be able to write more descriptive sentences and sentences with less words but more meanings. It didn't pull me in, respectfully
i like how ur so unhinged with me sez. and ima take this criticism seriously. and yeah ima try refining on this piece, i believe there's something here. trying to make this more than a substack post. much love.
reading ur writing makes me want to write pieces of stories bcs i cannot muster up a whole storyline 4 the life of me. ur manner of writing is always the most visceral. if u were wrote an entire novel i would love to read it‼️
